As the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant powers down and more workers are laid off, PACRO is actively working to recruit new development to the site and formulating and solid plan to account for and market the land and assets.
One of PACRO’s missions is ensuring that proper cleanup ensues at the PGDP site in a timely manner. In the Fall of 2014 the U.S. Department of Energy awarded the contract to Fluor Federal Services. Federal funding to the tune of $263 million has been allocated for the work.
PACRO’s revolving loan program has helped spur economic growth in its nine-county region by providing funding for relevant projects. PACRO also issued grants for development projects in its infancy.
